CaptureMark - Privacy Policy

1. Overview

CaptureMark is a Chrome extension developed by Kuuloa LLC that captures screenshots, provides annotation tools, and offers page archiving. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we handle.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your screenshots
• We do not collect browsing history or page content
• We do not track your browsing activity
• We do not collect personally identifiable information
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts in the extension

2.2 Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

• License key: Stored in Chrome sync storage to enable Pro features across your devices
• Screenshots: Temporarily held in memory during editing, never sent to any server

2.3 Archive Feature

When you use the "Archive This Page" feature, the URL of the current page is sent to kiroku.today (a web archiving service also operated by Kuuloa LLC) to create a permanent copy. This is the only data transmitted externally, and only when you explicitly click the Archive button.

2.4 OCR Feature

The OCR (text extraction) feature uses Tesseract.js, which runs entirely in your browser. No image data is sent to any external server for text recognition.

3. Permissions

CaptureMark requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: To capture the visible area of the current tab
• scripting: To inject the area selection overlay and scroll for full-page capture
• tabs: To read the current tab URL for the archive feature
• storage: To save your Pro license key locally

Each permission is used solely for its stated purpose and nothing else.

4. Third-Party Services

CaptureMark integrates with:

• kiroku.today: Used only when you click the Archive button. Subject to the kiroku.today Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Used for Pro subscription payments. Subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Tesseract.js (CDN): OCR library loaded from jsDelivr CDN. No user data is sent to the CDN.

5. Data Security

All screenshot data remains local to your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. License keys are stored using Chrome's built-in sync storage, which is encrypted by Google.

6. Children's Privacy

CaptureMark does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
