Information We Collect or Process

Evidence Camera may collect or process the following information when the user uses the app:

  • Photos and videos captured by the user through the app
  • File metadata, including filename, media type, file size, duration, SHA-256 hash, and capture time
  • Server-side proof metadata, including server received time, created time, public record identifier, share page URL, and signed evidence receipt information
  • Sharing settings selected by the user, including private, link sharing, and password-protected sharing states
  • Device and installation information, including install ID, installation authentication token, device name, platform, app version, build number, and distribution channel
  • Language preference, legal consent version, and custom collection names created by the user in the app
  • Google Play purchase information needed to verify Pro subscriptions, including purchase token, product ID, subscription state, and expiration status

Photos and Videos

Photos and videos are uploaded to the Kiroku service when the user captures and saves them in the app. If an upload cannot be completed, the app may temporarily keep the captured file on the device so the user can retry or delete the waiting upload.

The app does not use photos or videos for advertising. Uploaded records are intended to provide the user with a preserved copy and related proof metadata, not to guarantee any legal outcome.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to provide app functionality, upload and store evidence records, generate proof metadata, show the user's library, manage storage limits, provide sharing pages, record legal consent, verify Google Play purchases, prevent abuse, maintain security, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Sharing and Disclosure

Records are private by default. If the user enables link sharing, a person who has the share URL may be able to view the shared record. If the user enables password-protected sharing, a person needs both the share URL and the password selected by the user.

We may process information through service providers that support hosting, storage, content delivery, security, billing verification, operations, and legal compliance. We do not sell user photos, videos, or personal data and do not share them for third-party advertising.

Pro purchases are processed by Google Play. Kuuloa LLC does not receive the user's payment card number.

Companion App Entitlement

If Evidence Recorder - Kiroku is installed on the same device, Evidence Camera may read Pro entitlement status, product ID, and expiration status from that companion app through a signature-protected Android ContentProvider. This local entitlement check is used to keep Kiroku Pro access consistent across Kiroku evidence apps and is not exposed to unrelated third-party apps.

Permissions and Device Access

Evidence Camera can open the device camera experience to capture photos and videos selected by the user. The app uses internet access to register the installation, upload records, fetch the library, update sharing settings, delete records, and verify purchases.

Backup, Retention, and Deletion

App preferences are stored on the device. Android cloud backup and device transfer are excluded for the app's shared preferences. Uploaded evidence records remain on the Kiroku service until deleted by the user, removed under policy, or removed as required by law.

Users can delete records in the app. Deleting a record removes it from the user's library and disables its shared page. Waiting uploads stored on the device can also be deleted from the app.

Security

Data is transmitted using HTTPS. Records are private by default, and sharing must be enabled by the user. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures designed to protect the service.

Children

Evidence Camera is not directed to children under 13. Users should not upload or share content involving children in a way that violates privacy, safety, legal, or platform policy requirements.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or service changes. The last updated date will be revised when changes are made.
